I recently had the opportunity to connect with Gwen (aka…Momma Gwen ) through Compel Training. She’s a gifted writer with a wealth of experience and I am thrilled she has agreed to share some of her wisdom as a mother with our community! Please check it out and let her know what you think 🙂
Moms, do you find yourself thinking that you are just not doing enough as a mother or that your life would be so much better just if you had what someone else has? Read more
A holiday is approaching this month that is unrivaled in its ability to stir the heart of a woman—Mother’s Day. It’s a delicate subject. For one the day is filled with joy as they are celebrated by the fruit of their womb; for another it’s a day spent in remembrance honoring the legacy of a mother now gone; for many others it is a day when their heart aches and their strength and value as a woman is called in to question because they have no biological children of their own. Many in all three of those groups referenced wonder…. Read more

“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4 NKJV
Scripture says to rejoice in the Lord always….the thing is in 2013 I couldn’t. Professional, financial, personal and relational challenges filled my heart with such bitterness that it was difficult to find joy in anything. Fast-forward to now (2016) – things have changed! One key to getting out of that pit was remembering what God taught me the years before…. Read more
The pathway towards contentment is not walked alone. We NEED Community and here at ‘One Grateful Me’ we’ve created just that- a community of women learning how to be content one day at a time. I’m often encouraged by the testimonies of others walking this path with me. Each month I’ve invited one woman to share her perspective on this journey.
I’m excited to introduce my dear friend and Author, Nicole D. Miller as the first guest writer on my blog! Let her know what you think 🙂 – Jamia

I sat on the floor of my bedroom and read this verse over and over again… Read more
Bonus Content Today!!! This month there will be two features on ‘Barriers to Contentment’ Check out this post & let me know what you think!
Scripture: Matthew 6:34 (MSG): “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.”
I’ve been pretty discontent for the past several months… Among the multitude of concerns pressing on my heart have been worries about my future. Looking for greener grass I’ve sought comfort in thoughts like: “Life will be better once this situation is over ” or “I’ll be so happy when A, B or C happens”. Read more
It’s soooo easy to complain!

Squeals of delight from earlier that day still rang in my ear. I’d finally had time to see one of my best sister-friends who was recently engaged.
I silently coached myself as she eagerly extended her hand for us to admire the rock. Read more
